International Conference on Creating Conditions for Deeper Learning in Science

Ellinogermaniki Agogi is hosting the International Conference on Creating Conditions for Deeper Learning in Science on 29-30 June 2019, in Athens, Greece. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners and decision makers from all around the world to investigate the concept of Deeper Learning and the conditions under which it could lead students to develop mastery in scientific subjects and the methods how these achievements can be assessed.

iMuSciCA goes concert at Luleå Tekniska Universitet

After a successful pilot concert in France, Luleå University of Technology in collaboration with the iMuSciCA project proudly organise the concert in Luleå (Kulturens hus, lilla salen) on 2nd March 2019, at 19:00. You can expect a high-class classical concert with mind-blowing novel interaction and visualizations.

This event closes the European Workshop on Technologies for STEAM Education and Human Learning on 1-2 March 2019.

EU-STEAM 2019 European Workshop on Technologies for STEAM Education and Human Learning

Luleå University of Technology in collaboration with the iMuSciCA project will host the European Workshop on Technologies for STEAM Education and Human Learning on 1-2 March 2018. Topics of interest include Deeper Learning, STEM and STEAM education, Augmented Reality, Innovative Learning approaches, IoT and Learning Technologies, Gamification and game technologies, Virtual reality, Learner-centered digital services, Digital skills in the classroom, Open knowledge technologies and Human-computer interfaces for learning.

The EU-STEAM 2019 workshop is an ideal opportunity to network and synchronize with European researchers working on Innovative Education and Human Learning.

WND Conference for Physics Teachers, 14-15 December 2018

Since 1966, the Working Group on Physics Didactics/Werkgroep Natuurkunde Didactiek (WND) organizes a conference for physics teachers. This conference has grown over the years into a major event where some 800 teachers, didactics and education developers from the Netherlands and Belgium meet each other. During this event iMuSciCA held two workshops introducing the project to a total of 40 participants.

iMuSciCA at the Velewe Congress

On 17 November 2018 iMuSciCA was presented at the Velewe inter-disciplinary congress consisting of subject-specific lectures (geography, biology, chemistry, physics or natural sciences) and 32 work sessions in which topics are worked out for the classroom. iMuSciCA gave two workshops for a total of 49 teachers. The congress was part of the action plan Science Information and Innovation, an initiative of the Flemish Community with the cooperation of the Ministry of the Flemish Community. The congress was open to all science teachers.

iMuSciCA at the Greek Researchers’ Night events

Athena’s team participated at the Greek Researchers’ Night events that took place on September 22, 2017  in Lavrion and on September 29, 2017 in Athens. They presented of the iMuSciCA interaction with virtual musical instruments using Kinect and Leap motion sensors and demonstrated the real-time beat tracking algorithm embedded on a NAO dancer.

Athena’s team participated at mind the lab event that took place on February 3, 2017  at the Doukisis Plakentias metro station. They presented of the iMuSciCA workbench real-time beat tracking algorithm embedded on a NAO dancer.  (photos, videos)

The algorithm was submitted to the IEEE Signal Processing Cup 2017 (video) performed in the top-third.
