Renaat Frans
Renaat Frans (male) lectures Physics, Science and STEM Education at the Teacher Education of UC Limburg. He also is a lecturer of Physics Lab at the University of Antwerp. Renaat Frans leads the Expertise Cell for Science Communication of the UC Limburg and their associated partners in UC Leuven-Limburg since 2013. He founded the Research Unit ‘Art of Teaching, Centre for Subject Matter Teaching’, a subject pedagogy research group focusing on the development of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). In the last decennium the group grew gradually and currently researchers work at several national and international research projects dealing with subject matter teaching. He is involved in current and former EU projects like Ark of Inquiry, Open Discovery Space, Pathway and Quantum SpinOff. He is the promotor of the Flemish STEM Learning Community and the STEM masterclasses of the Flemish Ministery of Education. He is a promotor for the School of Education Association University of Leuven, a PCK-project around interdisciplinary science education (Vakdidactiek Natuurwetenschappen). He initiated research on interdisciplinary education of science and music (MuMaQ project). Renaat Frans gives lectures at many national and international conferences and organizes courses and workshops for in-service teachers. Here hundreds of teachers each year get trained into gaining new pedagogical insights. Renaat Frans is member of the STEM workgroup of the Flemish Education Council (in Dutch: de “Vlaamse Onderwijsraad” in short: “Vlor”), the official advisory body on “the education and training policy” of the Flemish Community in Belgium.
Erica Andreotti
Erica Andreotti (Female) is researcher at the UC Limburg research group ‘Art of Teaching’. She is a researcher in numerous national and international research projects and professional development courses related to science education and STEM (e.g. Ark of Inquiry, Professional STEM Learning Community, STEM Masterclasses…). She was promotor of the EU LLP project ‘Quantum Spin-Off’. Erica holds a Ph.D. in nuclear and particle physics and carried out (post)doctoral research in the framework of international fundamental research experiments (located at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory, Italy) and for the EU research institute JRC-IRMM (Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements of the Joint Research Centre). She has experience in coordinating national and international projects.

Jeroen Op den Kelder
Jeroen Op den Kelder (Male) works for the research group ‘Art of Teaching’ where he is responsible for organization of trainings, logistics and communication. He is involved in the Flemish Network for STEM and the STEM Masterclasses. Jeroen holds a Bachelor degree in Management. He is fluent in Dutch, French, English and also speaks Spanish. He is used to working in international and multicultural environments.
